myWhalen is a user customizable section of our site that allows you, the end user to customize your experience when you visit
www.whalenandcompany.com. When you sign up you are given access to a special section of the site for myWhalen members that allows you to do things like add Real Estate to your
Watch List. When you add a property to your Watch List it will remain there until you remove it or it is sold/removed by an agent from Whalen & Company's site. Anytime an agent makes changes to the property you are notified via email of the change. When you signup for myWhalen you are required to read and review our
Privacy Policy. You can also be notified of any new listings a Whalen & Company agent lists which meet criteria you specify.

Buying or selling a home can be a daunting task. With the recent swelling of financial regulations and regulations surrounding buying and selling Real Estate in general it can be difficult and confusing to know which "roads to take." A licensed Real Estate professional can help you with this. As a professional they've "been there done that," so to speak, and because of this you will benefit from their experience, knowledge, and training. "Realtor®" simply refers to some one who is a member of

LBAR stands for "Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors" it is a sub-organization of NAR to which most of our Real Estate agents belong. If you list with a Whalen & Company Realtor® who is an LBAR member you have the added benefit of your listing appearing on
whalenandcompany.com as well as LBAR's site and possibly
LBAR's other publications. We link to this organization as an added convenience. If you do not see your listing on our site, it may be due to the fact that our site has not downloaded your listing from
LBAR which happens every 24-hours. If after 24-hours you still do not see your listing please
notify us, there maybe a problem that we are unaware of.

Depending on whether or not your agent is a member of
LBAR, it may take up to 24-hours for your property to become visible on our site. See the question
"What is LBAR and why do you link to it?" for more details on why this happens.

We try to make our site as user friendly as possible but we understand that nothing is perfect and you may not think exactly the way we do. We provide two sections in this document, the
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section and the
Site Help section. The
FAQ section provides general information on questions that might come up when using our site. The
Site Help section provides technical support and explanation of specific features of our site. If you are confused about how to use a specific feature, visit
Site Help. If you want general information on something look through the
FAQ. Also, placed around the sites are small,red, question marks, if you hover your mouse pointer over the question mark, a small text area will appear with an explaination of the feature.

If you are not receiving myWhalen emails it may be due to your junk email filters. Please check in your junk email folders and make sure our emails are not winding up in there. Also, double check to make sure that you have selected that you wish to receive our emails in your preferences under
myWhalen.

Log into
myWhalen click on preferences, then click the "Delete Account" button. myWhalen will prompt you with a confirmation, simply answer yes, and you are finished.

Site Help

myWhalen is a customizable section of our site that allows you to save listings you are interested in for later review and also see notices about changes to those listings. Check the FAQ for more information. If you have forgotten your myWhalen password you may click the "Forgot Password" link in the myWhalen section to reset your password. If you fail to logon more than 4 times in a row your account is locked out of the system for 1 minute. After the 1 minute period has expired, you may try to login again.
All areas of our website contain a "Printer Friendly" link. When you click this link you will be directed to an alternate version of the page you are viewing that is formatted best for printing. When you are viewing listings, you also have the additional option of viewing the printed version in both HTML or PDF formats and whether or not to display all the photos associated with the listing.
Listings which are less than 2 months old are displayed in our new listing section.
Whalen & Company also provides auction services. (Contact Vince Wells for more information.) Whenever we have an upcoming auction it is displayed in this section. Both Personal Property auctions and Real Estate auctions are displayed in this section.
This section displays all of our currently scheduled Open Houses for our listings. Click on the open house information to retrieve information on both the listing and the Open House, including directions.
This is our navigation menu. You may select a link below. To view all of our Real Estate listings at once you may click "View All Listings." Please note that clicking on "View All Listings" over a dial-up connection may cause the page to load slowly since we have quite a few listings! It is recommended that Dial-up users click the "Real Estate" button to refine their search to only a few listings at a time. If you are interested in David Manor click the “David Manor” link to see a short presentation. Contact any of our Real Estate agents for more information on David Manor.
Below you will find several search criteria which you can use to "weed out" listings that you do not want to view. Simply select the criteria below, and then press "Go." Optionally, you may conduct a full text search by typing your keywords/phrases into the text box at the bottom of the page and clicking "Search." The full-text search function is provided by Google, you will be redirected to their site where you can select one of our pages among the search results.
Whalen & Company provides Auto, Home, and Commercial Insurance. This section contains all of our Insurance information. If you would like to get a quote, click the "Get Quote" button in the middle of the page.
Please note that completion of a quote in no way binds coverage. The image you see below which contains text is to protect our servers from DOS (Denial Of Service) attacks by hackers. Simply type the text you see into the text box below.

Contact information for all of our employees and agents are listed below in alphabetical order. Click on the Employee or Agent name to view that person's complete profile.
This link takes you to a mapuest.com page that will allow you to retrieve directions (with a map) to the listing, open house, or auction which you are currently viewing. Often when you first click the link mapquest.com may not find the exact address of the property as it is listed on our site. Usually it will provide you with a list of similar addresses which may also be correct. Please try these similar directions (these are often correct) but check with the Listing Agent to be sure.
This is the Listing ID search area. All of our listings are assigned a unique 6 or 7 digit ID. If you have seen our listings in an advertisement, often a "Listing ID," "Reference Number," or "ML Number" is mentioned in the advertisement. If you have this number for a listing you want to view, simply type it in this box to jump right to the listing.
This is the myWhalen control panel. You may use it to jump directly to your Watch List (for more information on what a "Watch List" is visit our FAQ) or preferences page. You may also use it to manually logout (closing your browser also logs out).
This page displays the listings you searched for. At the top of the page are two drop-down boxes. Click the small black arrows and select an option to sort the listing according to the criteria you specify.
